Very little is known about Abd al-Bari al-Filistini. Given his proximity to Marwan al-Jabour on the SSCI list of prisoners, he is likely to have been the Palestinian transferred from Pakistani detention to a CIA-run site in Afghanistan on 16 June 2004. According to Jabour, he was transferred alongside a Palestinian, a Libyan and an Afghan, all of whom were then held with him at where we now know was DETENTION SITE ORANGE. Calculations published by the SSCI show that he was held by the CIA for over two years (770-779 days) between 2004-2006. Analysis of prisoner entry and exit dates for CIA custody suggest that al-Filistini was likely to have been transferred out from CIA custody alongside Marwan al-Jabour, at some point between 26 July 2006 and 4 August 2006. Indeed, al-Jabour himself describes being “fairly certain” that he was rendered to Jordan after two years of CIA detention alongside another prisoner.
